We’ve asked this week’s curator Kate Riley of Centsational Girl, to share with us her thoughts and inspiration for her Curator’s Collection event. Here’s what she had to say:

Hello everyone! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Kate and I write all about interior decorating and great design at my blog, Centsational Girl. I’m an incurable DIY-er at heart, so you’ll find me doing everything from installing wainscoting and grasscloth wallpaper to painting and restoring furniture, all at my website. I was so excited to be invited to curate a collection for Joss & Main, and I’ve hand-selected over 60 items that reflect my personal style.
I find myself torn between the glamour of Hollywood Regency and the practicality of living with a budget and with children, so you’ll find my style settles somewhere in the middle – what I like to call “casual elegance”. In my own home, you’ll find a lot of my favorite color blue, but muddied with gray undertones and always combined with crisp modern white and classic shades of cream. Every room is layered in these colors and accessorized with a medley of metallic sheens, from antique gold to pewter to chrome. I’m so inspired by the great outdoors, so you’ll see branches appear in my decorating. I love the whiteness of birch, the sculpture of manzanita, and the beauty of dark mahogany. Combine them all with white ceramics and colored glass and I’m a happy girl!
I’ve curated a beautiful collection for Joss & Main with these tastes in mind, including some favorites I already own. I’d place each and every one of these pieces in my home if I had the space! I do hope you’ll find something special you’ll love.
